TUXEDO FOR CARE BEAR SIZED ANIMALS


The inspiration for designing this Tuxedo was making a Wedding Couple set of bears.  The color of the dress will be completely up to the person making it.  I used traditional white for the shir and black for the jacket.

MATERIALS
Worsted weight yarn:  White, Black, and Gold
H and I crochet hook
Tapestry and sewing needles
4 3/8" white buttons
White sewing thread

SHIRT
Rw 1:    Using H crochet hook and white, ch 44, sc in second ch from hook and in each sc across.  (42)
Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (42)
Rw 3:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 9 sts, (2 sc in next st, sc in next 10 sts) 3 times.  (45)
Rw 4:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc) 8 times.  (53)
Rw 5:    Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 4 times, (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 5 times, sc in next 4 sc.  (62)
Rw 6:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 6 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc) 8 times.  (70)
Rw 7:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 6 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc) 8 times.  (78)
Rw 8:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 12 sc, ch 1 (underarm), skip next 18, sc in next 18 sc, ch 1 (underarm),     skip next 18 sc, sc in next 12 sc.  (42 sc and 2 chs)
Rw 9:  Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 11 sc, 3 sc in next ch, sc in next 18 sc, 3 sc in next ch, sc in next 11 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (50)
Rws 10-14:    Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (50)

COLLAR OF SHIRT
Rw 1:    Working in foundation ch of SHIRT, attach white with slip st, sc in next 40 ch.  (40)
Finish off.

Sew buttons on shirt.

BOW TIE
Rw 1:    With Black, ch 55, sc in secnnd ch from hook and in next 12 ch.
Finish off.  Tie BOW and wrap remaining ch around neck over collar and tie off.

JACKET
Rw 1:    Using I crochet hook and black, ch 42, sc in second ch from hook and in each sc across.  (40)
Rw 2:     Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 38 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (42)
Rw 3:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 9 sts, (2 sc in next st, sc in next 10 sts) 3 times.  (45)
Rw 4:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc) 8 times.  (53)
Rw 5:    Ch 1, turn; (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 4 times, (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 5 times, sc in next 4 sc.  (62)
Rw 6:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 6 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc) 8 times.  (70)
Rw 7:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 6 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc) 8 times.  (78)
Rw 8:    Ch 1, turn; sc in next 12 sc, ch 1 (underarm), skip next 18, sc in next 18 sc, ch 1 (underarm),     skip next 18 sc, sc in next 12 sc.  (42 sc and 2 chs)
Rw 9:  Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 11 sc, 3 sc in next ch, sc in next 18 sc, 3 sc in next ch, sc in next 11 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (50)
Rws 10-14:    Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (50)

JACKET SLEEVES
Rd 1:    With right side of SHIRT facing, join Black with slip st in free loop of ch at underarm, ch 1, sc in side of next sc, sc in next 18 sc and in side of next sc, sc as join slip st, join with slip st to first sc.  (21)
Rds 2-10:    Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join.  (21)
Finish off.

Repeat to second SLEEVE.

CROWN (OPTIONAL)
Rw 1:   With Gold, ch 20, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (18)
Rw 2:    Turn; [slip st in next sc, (sc, dc) in next sc, (dc, sc) in next sc] around.
Finish off.  Sew crown together to form ring.
