TMNT


This pattern was a special request by my nephew.  You should have seen his face when I delivered it her.  I am working on the others for him as well.  Here is the pattern that I created to bring such joy and happiness to my nephew.  I hope you enjoy it as much as he did.  This pattern can be used to make any of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by changing color of headband and elbow and knee accents along with the letter on the medallion on the belt and weapons.  I used wooden skewers to make Leonardo’s swords.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Paddy green, café latte, buff, white, gray, and black.
Detail color: Leonardo: Blue
Donatello: Purple
Michaelangelo: Orange
Raphael: Red
F crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle

BODY:
Rd 1: With green, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (25)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (30)
Rds 7-16: sc in each sc around.  (30)
Rd 17: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around.  (25)
Rd 18: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around.  (20)
Rd 19: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (15)
Rd 20: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)
Rd 21: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (25)
Rd 22: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (30)
BEGIN TO STUFF BODY AT THIS POINT FIRMLY.
Rds 23-24: sc in each sc around.  (30)
Rd 25: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around.  (25)
Rds 26-28: sc in each sc around.  (25)
Rd 29: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around.  (20)
Rd 30: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (15)
Rd 31: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (10)
Rd 32: sc2tog around.  (5)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

BELLY:
Rd 1: With buff, ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (5)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (10)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (15)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (20)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (25)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (30)
Rd 7: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (35)
Rd 8: (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (40)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew BELLY to BODY.

SHELL:
Rd 1: With café latte, 8 hdc in magic ring, join with slip st in first hdc.  (8)
Rd 2: Ch 2 (Counts as first hdc here and throughout), hdc in same hdc as first hdc, 2 hdc in each hdc around, join.  (16)
Rd 3: Ch 2, (2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next hdc) 7 times, 2 hdc in next hdc, join.  (24)
Rd 4: Ch 2, hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, (hdc in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) 7 times, join.  (32)
Rd 5: Ch 3, hdc in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, (hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc) 7 times, join.  (40)
Rd 6: Ch 1, reverse sc in each hdc around.  (40)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew SHELL to BODY.  Add stuffing before closing.

ARMS (MAKE 2):
THUMBS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: Ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around.  (4)
Finish off.  Set aside.
FINGERS (MAKE 4):
Rd 1: Ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rds 2-3: sc in each sc around.  (4)  Finish off for the first finger of each ARM.  For second finger of each ARM, do not finish off.
Rd 4: sc in next 2 sc on second finger, sc in each sc of first finger, sc in next 2 sc of second finger.  (8)
Rd 5: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rd 6: sc in next sc, sc in each sc of THUMB, sc in each sc around hand.  (12)
Rds 7-8: (sc2tog) twice, sc in each remaining sc around.  (8)
BEGIN STUFFING ARM AT THIS POINT
Rds 9-16: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rd 17: sc2tog around.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew ARMS to BODY.

LEGS (MAKE 2):
TOES (MAKE 4):
Rd 1: Ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around.  (4)  Finish off for the first toe of each LEG.  For second toe of each LEG, do not finish off.
Rd 3: sc in next 2 sc of second toe, sc in each sc of first toe, sc in next 2 sc of second toe.  (8)
Rd 4: sc in each sc around.  (8)
NOW WORKING IN ROWS
Rw 5: sc in next next 4 sc leaving remaining sc of Rd 4 unworked.  (4)
Rw 6: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 4 sc.  (4)
Rw 7: Ch 1, turn; (sc2tog) twice.  (2)
NOW WORKING IN ROUNDS AGAIN
Rd 8: Ch 1, sc in side of Rows 5-7, slip st in unworked sc of Rd 4, sc in side of Row 5-7, sc in top of sc of Row 7.  (12)
Rd 9: sc in each st around.  (12)
Rd 10: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around.  (10)
Rd 11: sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog.  (8)
BEGIN STUFFING LEG AT THIS POINT
Rds 12-21: sc in each sc around.  (8)
Rd 22: sc2tog around.  (4)
Finish off leaving a long tail to sew LEGS to BODY.

BELT:
Rw 1; With café latte, ch 51, sc in second ch from hook and in each sc around.
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

MEDALLION:
Rd 1: With gray, 9 sc in magic ring.  (9)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.
ASSEMBLY:  Overlapping the sixth and forty-fifth stitch sc, place medallion over overlapping and attach swing through all thicknesses  Embroider L, D, M, or R using appropriate color.  Slip on TMNT after finishing.

ELBOW AND KNEE ACCENTS:
Cut 3 8” pieces of appropriate color.  Holding all three pieces together, wrap around elbow or knee three times and tie together.  Trim to same lengths.

HANDBAND:
Rw 1: With appropriate color, ch 36, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (35)  Finish off.  Fold in half.  Sew together through three stitches from end.  Place on HEAD.

EYES AND MOUTH:
Eyes are embroidered on over the HEADBAND.  Embroider mouth on face.

BACKPACK WEAPON HOLDER:
Rw 1: With café latte, ch 3, sc in second ch from hook and in next ch.  (2)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc across.  (4)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (6)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (8)
Rws 5-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (8)
Rd 9: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc, ch 30, slip st in edge of Row 2 on opposite side.
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Place on Leonardo or Donatello.
