HEART PILLOW

This was a request from a co-worker of mine.  He wanted a small heart throw pillow with his wife’s name on it.  The picture above is of the side that does not have his wife’s name.  It is an easy pattern.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Red and white
H crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfill
Tapestry needle

HEART (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With red, ch 2, 2 sc in second ch from hook.  (2)
Rw 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc across.  (4)
Rw 3: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (6)
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (8)
Rw 5: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (10)
Rw 6: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (12)
Rw 7: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 10 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (14)
Rw 8: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 12 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (16)
Rw 9: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 14 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (18)
Rw 10: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 16 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (20)
Rw 11: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 18 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (22)
Rw 12: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 20 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (24)
Rw 13: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 22 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (26)
Rw 14: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 24 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (28)
Rw 15: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 26 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (30)
Rw 16: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 28 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (32)
Rws 17-18: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (32)
Rw 19: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 15, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 14 sc, 2 sc in next sc.  (35)
Rw 20-28: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (35)
BUMP 1:
Rw 29: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 14 sc.  (15)
Rw 30: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 13 sc, sc2tog.  (14)
Rw 31: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 10 sc, sc2tog.  (12)
Rw 32: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 8 sc, sc2tog.  (10)
Rw 33: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog. (8)
Finish off.
BUMP 2:
Rw 29: Skip next 3 sc, attach red with slip st, ch 1, sc in next same sc as slip st, sc in next 13 sc, sc2tog.  (15)
Rw 30: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 13 sc.  (14)
Rw 31: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 10 sc, sc2tog.  (12)
Rw 32: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 8 sc, sc2tog.  (10)
Rw 33: Ch 1, turn; sc2tog, sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog.  (8)
Finish off.

BORDER:
Rd 1: With wrong side of FRONT and BACK together, with BACK facing you, and working through both thicknesses, attach white with slip st in side, ch 1, work 96 sc around working 3 sc at bottom point.  Join with slip st to first sc.  (96)
Rd 2: Ch 1, (sc in next sc, skip next sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip next sc) around, join with slip st to first sc.
Finish off.  Weave in ends.
