MINECRAFT ENDERMAN WRIST RATTLE

A co-worker saw the wrist rattlesnake that I had made.  He asked me if I could make a wrist rattle with Minecraft Enderman’s head on it.  Of course, I said yes.  Here is the pattern for the wrist rattle with Minecraft Enderman in mind.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Black and lavender.
E Crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Tapestry needle
2 ½ inch piece of Velcro
Small jingle bell

ENDERMAN’S HEAD:
HEAD BOTTOM:
Rw 1: With black, ch 9, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (8)
Rws 2-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (8)
Finish off.  Sew HEAD BOTTOM to BODY TOP.

HEAD FRONT:
Rw 1: With black, ch 9, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (8)
Rws 2-3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (8)  Change to lavender.
Rw 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 3 sc, change to black, sc in next 2 sc, change to lavender, sc in next 2 sc.  (8)  Change to black.
Rws 5-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (8)
Finish off.

HEAD SIDES AND TOP (MAKE 4):
Rw 1: With black, ch 1, sc in second from hook and in each sc across.  (8)
Rws 2-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (8)
Finish off.

WRIST STRAP (MAKE 2):
Rw 1: With black, ch 7, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.  (6)
Rw 2-40: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.  (6)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Sew Velcro to each side of strap.  Set aside for now.

RATTLE ASSEMBLY:
Sew center of BOTTOM OF HEAD to Row 5 of top STRAP.
Sew HEAD FRONT and HEAD SIDES to HEAD BOTTOM.  Matching colors, sew side seam together.  Stuff HEAD firmly.
Sew HEAD TOP on HEAD adding any stuffing needed to finish shape and jingle bell before closing.  Weave in ends.
