PUMPKABOO

This is next in a series of requests from Etsy customers.  Pumpkaboo reminds me of a pumpkin with a black cat coming out of the top.  This pattern includes the color list for both Pumpkaboo and Shiny Pumpkaboo.

MATERIALS:
Worsted Weight Yarn:  Orange (Lavender), yellow, charcoal (black), white, and black.
E crochet hook
Polyester fiberfill
Yarn Needle
Green and brown chenille stem

PUMPKIN:
Rd 1: With orange, 9 sc in magic ring.  (9)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (18)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (27)
Rd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (36)
Rd 5: (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (45)
Rd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (54)
Rd 7: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (63)
Rds 8-17: sc in each sc around.  (63)
Rd 18: (sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog) around.  (54)
Rd 19: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around.  (45)
Rd 20: (sc in next 3 sc, sc2tog) around.  (36)
Rd 21: (sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog) around.  (27)
Rd 22: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (18)
STUFF PUMPKIN FIRMLY.
Rd 23: sc2tog around.  (9)
Finish off leaving an extremely long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 37, pull tightly and secure.  Run tail through center of PUMPKIN and out the bottom of PUMPKIN, wrap around PUMPKIN and run again through center of PUMPKIN to create bump.  Repeat until PUMPKIN has been evenly separated into five bumps.

EYES (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With yellow, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EYES to PUMPKIN.

LEAVES (MAKE 8):
Rd 1: With charcoal, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (6)
Rd 3: sc in each sc around.  (6)
Rd 4: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (9)
Rd 5: sc in each sc around.  (9)
Rd 6: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (12)
Rds 7-12: sc in each sc around.  (12)
STUF LEAVES FIRMLY.
Rd 13: (sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog) around.  (10)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

LEWAVES ASSEMBLY:
Rd 1: Flatten first LEAF, working through both thicknesses of flattened LEAF, attach charcoal, ch 1, sc in same sc as attachment, sc in next 2 sc, working through sc of first flattened LEAF and sc of next flattened LEAF and working through all thicknesses, sc in next sc, (sc in next 3 sc, working through sc of previous LEAF and next LEAF and working through all thicknesses, sc in next sc) 6 times, sc in next 3 sc of last LEAF, working through sc of last LEAF and first LEAF, sc in next sc.    (32)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.

HEAD:
Rd 1: With charcoal, 6 sc in magic ring.  (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.  (12)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (18)
Rd 4: sc in each sc around.  (18)
Rd 5: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (21)
Rd 6: sc in each sc around.  (21)
Rd 7: (sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (24)
Rds 8-10: sc in each sc around.  (24)
Rd 11: Holding sc together with first sc of LEAVES ASSEMBLY and working through both thicknesses, (sc in next 2 sc, sc together next 2 sc of LEAVES ASSEMBLY and sc of HEAD) around.  (24)
Rd 12: (sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog) around.  (21)
Rd 13: (sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog) around.  (18)
Rd 14: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (12)
STUFF HEAD FIRMLY.
Rd 15: sc2tog around.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Weave tail through sc of Rd 15, pull tightly and secure.  Sew HEAD to PUMPKIN.  Weave in ends.

MOUTH, TEETH, AND EYES:
Embroider MOUTH, TEETH and EYES on HEAD of PUMPKABOO.

EARS (MAKE 2):
Rd 1: With charcoal, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: sc in each sc around.  (4)
Rd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (6)
Rd 4: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (9)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Sew EARS to HEAD adding stuffing before closing.

STEM
Rd 1: With charcoal, ch 2, 4 sc in second ch from hook working around ch.  (4)
Rd 2: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (6)
Rd 3: sc in each sc around.  (6)
Rd 4: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around.  (9)
Rds 5-14: sc in each sc around.  (9)
STUFF CURLED SECTION OF STEM LIGHTLY.  CONTINUE STUFFING STEM BOTTOM FIRMLY.
Rd 15: (sc in next sc, sc2tog) around.  (6)
Rds 16-19: sc in each sc around.  (6)
Finish off leaving a long tail.  Curl upper section of STEM and sew together.  Sew STEM to HEAD.
