D4

This is the continued series of dice that is used the classic Dungeons and Dragons, along with most role-playing dice games.  Next to the six-sided dice, the four-sided dice is easy.  It is basically a pyramid.  The dice can be made in any color.  The color for the numbers will, of course, be determined based on the color of the dice—white with dark dice color or black with light dice color.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn:  Dice color and white/black
E crochet hook
Polyester Fiberfil
Tapestry needle

DICE SIDES (MAKE 4):
Rd 1: With dice color, 6 sc in magic ring, slip st in first sc.  (6)
Rd 2: Ch 1, (sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc.  (12)
Rd 3: Ch 1, (sc in next 2 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) around, slip st in first sc.  (18)
Rd 4: Ch 1, (sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) around, slip st in first sc.  (24)
Rd 5: Ch 1, (sc in next 4 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc) around, slip st in first sc.  (30)
Finish off.  Weave in ends.  Using white/black, embroider numbers of DICE SIDES.  Sew DICE SIDES together matching numbers stuffing before closing.

  1. LOVE this! I made one as a test run and I made ONE change: I cut out triangles of light cardboard slightly smaller than the triangle panels and hot glued them to the back of the finished panels. This helped it keep its "pyramid" shape when stuffed! I am going to try all the other dice patterns the same way!!
